'89 pickup, replace rear window glass?

I'd like to replace the sliding glass with a regular glass. Has anybody done this? Mine is an '89 2wd with 22RE and standard 5 spd transmission. I know the truck has a bed that was not originally on the chassis from the factory. Maybe it was to be made into a camper originally. I don't know.

Do you have any pictures of the current rear window?

Is your truck a regular cab or an Xtra cab?

The bed is Toyota, it's just one that was manufactured and installed in the USA. The vehicle would arrive as an incomplete vehicle (IV) and have the bed installed at the port. Pretty much all the DX and SR5 models have USA beds, while the STD all got the Japanese beds. Jap. beds all had that external lip, while USA beds were smooth at the lip. Most likely this was done to reduce tariff costs.
The rear glass is just held in with the rubber seal. It'll pull right out. Letting it sit in the sun for awhile will make the rubber seal easier to work with.

I swapped the sliding window for a single pane recently on my 1990 regular cab. It’s not complicated, but it can be a pain. You need to buy the glass and a new gasket to hold it in place. The plain window was an option, so parts are readily available. Regular cab and extended cab are different sizes, so you’ll need to make sure you get the right parts. You can check YouTube for howto videos. Don’t worry about finding one specific to your truck. The glass install is the same on most pickups. It really helps if the rubber is warm and pliable, as does lots of lubricant. Good luck
