Warm Restart issues on 1986 22re. (SOLVED, Maybe))
Been dealing with warm restart issues and hot restart . Not cold start. Issues were rough idle, dying from idle, dying if accelerator pressed, dying when accelerator released after very slowly coughing up to 2k rpms, BUT running decent over 2.2k rpms but no power till 4k rpms. After several minutes it would clear up for the most part but still act up occasionally. I refuse to part cannon so I used the FSM to check AFM, TCM, O2sensor, fuel pressure, injectors, vacuum leaks, etc. ENDED UP PROBABLY BEING LEAKING RADIATOR CAP CAUSING BUBBLES AND FLOW ISSUES AND NOT ALLOWING iac/thermostat/coldstart injector to play well together. Noticed radiator was maybe 0.3 liters low but wasn't pulling from overflow tank. Replaced radiator cap and now it behaves much better. Now runs well enough to spin both tires in 1st, chirp one tire in 2nd. Only performance issue now is in cold weather cold start injector is activated on all starts. After 1-2 minutes of rich fumes it runs great. I repaired thermostat earlier this year so maybe...
