1998 4Runner SRS Warning Light/Low Fuel lights issue, Turn Signals on when braking
I'm having a few issues with a 1998 4Runner...the SRS Warning Light is always on, even when taking key out of ignition...the low fuel light comes on after starting the vehicle...I recently replaced the LEDs in the cluster and replaced all lights on the interior and exterior with LEDs as well...
I'm also having an issue with the turn signals coming on when applying the brakes...both come on as soon as I hit the brakes...
\/\/\/ SRS and Low Fuel constantly on....I don't think they're actually on though, I would assume they'd be much brighter if they were really on....
^^^^brakes applied
Can anyone help??
\/\/\/\/ I also need help replacing this switch for the alarm that I broke when removing the dash to replace the LEDs in the cluster....
Rule of thumb: New problems are usually caused by what you worked on recently. Sounds like a short in the center console/dash. My own low fuel light has been on for 20yrs and is the sending unit inside the tank.
Others have reported that replacing some of the incandescent bulbs with LEDs will cause some warning lights to behave oddly. For some circuits, the ECU measures the voltage drop which is different if an LED is in that circuit. An LED is a light and diode so it usu has a polarity. Depending on the circuit, a backwards LED may never go on or may be on all the time.
