Good day. I'm in the midst of refreshing the front-end of my '89 4Runner and I had a question about removing the inner knuckle to CV/Axle seal? I hope its not as difficult as removing the inner wheel bearing seal which was a PITA! Should I try tapping a flat head screwdriver around the perimeter and see if it moves? Any tips appreciated. On a side note, the seal on the CV which mates to this one, tap it off with a small ball peen hammer? Thank in advance!

Figured it out. Just needed to use different sized flat blade screwdrivers to break the rust and it popped out... And the CV seal just popped off with a few hits from the ball peen, easy peezy... I was hesitant in damaging the existing seals because the newer design are smaller and don't quite look the same. So I wanted to be sure the new seals were going to work before I tore into the existing ones.
