My rear differential cover is pretty rusted out and I’d rather buy a new one rather than try to restore it. Just wondering if you guys know of any aftermarket shops that sell covers for an ‘85.

I’ve searched around online, but can’t seem to find anything for an ‘85. Also, I live out in the sticks, so finding one in a junkyard isn’t really an option for me.

 

Like, a weld in patch? You know that the "diff cover" is part of the axle housing on the Toyotas, right?
There is weld on "armor" that could possibly fix your issue. I've never seen a diff patch panel, but they might exist.
There is no such thing as a bolt on diff cover for these vintage trucks.

 

Ok thanks. I’m coming from a Tacoma so I just assumed the 85 also had a removable cover. My fault for not looking more closely.
