2016 Hybrid Lexus CT 200h into my 86 with a 22r

Curious if it would be something that I could do ! Seeing as I have a fully functional 2016 Lexus ct200h that needs to be destroyed ! And a 86 Toyota 4*4 with a manual 5 peed with a 22r with a blown head gasket that is leaking externally .

Due to it being the perhaps worst Lexus ever manufactured! Plus it got smashed in a couple of unfortunate events due to my bipolar kids mother not knowing how to drive worth a crap

I would imagine that trying to get a modern FWD Lexus Hybrid power train to work outside of the car it was designed for would be extremely difficult. The Lexus has many, many different computer modules that need to communicate in the car it was designed for, for the system to work. These computer modules need much, much more than just the handful of sensors you could "trick" with early EFI setup. You would somehow have to transfer many of the systems on the Lexus and retrofit onto your truck, including things like the ABS, the Lexus gauge cluster, fuel system, batteries, door locks, window controls etc. Or you will get a very long list of codes or problems getting seemingly unrelated systems to function properly. Trying to get a FWD transverse engine/electric motor with a continuously variable transmission along with all the electronic modules to work on a traditional longitudinal 4WD truck would be quite the engineering project.

Is it possible, maybe, given enough time and money.

Practical? No, not a chance.

Do it, I'd love to see it. I've been commuting a Prius and like the hybrid enough to contemplate attempting a hybrid swap on my 75 Hilux, but realize I'll need to do waaaaay more research....and then there's that whole time and money thing.

I was looking at Prius parts, and I know those have a front subframe that can be dropped out, which I planned to mate to my chassis.....but then like said you get into issues with all the electronic doohickeys. Can likely transfer a good portion of them and trick the rest, but this is probably the reason all the hybrid swaps I've seen are basically mating the desired vehicle body onto the "chassis" of the hybrid donor, avoiding all those electronics issues

Good luck

Yeah that's the same that I've gathered apparently or the easiest way to go about it it just seems like a lot of headache trying to just get the systems that you need to function properly and modifying the database to work with everything and communicating properly with the modules! On the side note though I picked up this for a hundred bucks on Facebook marketplace apparently it is a 350 bolt main with 96,000 miles

350 4-bolt main with 96,000 mi to pick up for hundred dollars on Facebook
