ECU-Engine harness firewall grommet availible?

My son and I are deep in the process of fixing his '88 4x4 that he wrecked in the front right. Putting entire front frame(forward of the A-arms)and inner fender in. The other night we were trying to pull out some pushed-in firewall with some weld on studs and forgot about the insulation on the other side behind the heater box. DOH! Fire!!! We got it put out and did not burn down the house thank God. Hell of a panic though LOL. Sadly we torched the harness a bit (it's fixable though) and mostly the gromet. We will need a new one. Does anyone have a source for one? As I understand it, the grommet is installed on the harness when built. Harnesses are NLA. Maybe someone has a good used one hanging around?? Oh, are any of the reman fenders any good or should we look for an OG fender? Thanks for any help and please learn from our stupid mistake...we did. Ha.

Is the insulation on the wires cooked, or just the wrap on the entire harness? Looking at the picture, it LOOKS like just the outer, wrapping tape is cooked. That tape is generically known as "Self-Amalgamating" tape, and is available from McMaster-Carr. I'd wager the grommets, too.

Does that help at all?

Thanks for the reply. About 8 wires were down to copper but were not broken. We gently separated and cleaned them of the melted insulation and re-wrapped them. I think they will be fine once we test and re-wrap the harness. I'll look at McMaster Carr. We were looking a bit closer into the fire wall hole and now realize there is a big hole melted into the back of the blower box. Ugg, add that to the list. Haha Thanks for the help.
