IFS Front End Rebuild
Hey everyone,
Time to rebuild the front end on my truck. Just wanted some feedback on my list and see if the guys that have done it already recommend anything else. So far I'm planning on:
-Upper and lower ball joints
-Inner and outer tie rods
-Pitman arm
-Steering damper
I rebuilt my idler arm a year ago so planning on keeping that for now. Anything I'm missing? Going all OEM btw, except the steering damper which will be ARB OME.
Thanks

OEM stuff lasts a long time. Very long. I'd check that the parts are actually worn before replacing them. The OEM ball joints and tie rods lasted over 300,000 on my 4Runner and well over 200,000 on my Pickup. Never wore a pitman arm or control arm bushings out on either one. OEM idler arms do go bad, especially on lifted trucks.
My point is, don't waste money. Check what's worn and replace that.
Good choice on going with OEM replacements. None, I mean zero, of the aftermarket brands compare. They will last months or maybe a couple years. OEM parts last decades.
