Pickup 3.0 power steering leak

Hello all. So my power steering on my 4wd 3VZ pickup is leaking but, no it’s not the pump. Does anyone know what the unit is/is called that’s below & in front of the pump that the power steering line(s) connect to?

I have tried to look it up but to no avail (I don’t know what it’s called) You can look up the pump, the reservoir, the steering gear box, and the lines all day long, but WHAT IS this other unit that says AISIN on it? Check out the pics,.. My leak looks to be coming from the bottom of this unit where one of the lines connects to it. If I could just get a seal kit for it then I could rebuild it or even get a new one and stop the leak. Thanks help appreciated!

That thing is the actuator for your trucks rear wheel anti-lock braking system.

Please keep us informed about how you repair it.

I don't think parts for it are easily got. You should be able to find some generic o rings that will fit some of it.

Here's the manual page. http://web.archive.org/web/201203160...17brakeact.pdf

Me, I'd start with some degreaser spray and a garden hose to get the Actuator sparkling clean. You might be able to see the leak immediately, but at least you should be able to tell whether you're looking at ATF (from the power steering pump) or brake fluid. While I've never serviced one of these, it looks like the power steering lines are connected with ordinary copper crush washers.

Some '94 and '95 models have 4 wheel ABS, but that is an all electric system that does not use power steering hydraulics at all.
