John Muir's Idiot Book for 75-87 Toyota Pickups

Anybody else have this book? I've had it since '87 and helped me so much as a young adult fixing my 87 4Runner (yeah, I'm old). I don't think I would've attempted the clutch job back then w/o this book. I did have the FSM but the author, Larry Owens, really talks in layman's terms with a bit of humor to boot. Just referred to it again to adjust the hubs on my '92 since I just installed bearings (says use a fish scale on lugs & adjust so pull is between 6.2-12.6lbs lol).

It is even still available on Amazon.

I have it. Anytime I find out about an old book/Manual for these trucks I try and find a copy. I don't really use it much anymore but enjoy flipping through it from time to time.

I have it. I found it on eBay 10+ years ago. It's a repeat of John Muir's 70's classic "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" which was spiral bound. I had that in high school for my '64 VW and it was illustrated with R. Crumb style cartoon illustrations. I tend to consult the FSM or Google though. If John Muir had thought it out he could have made a fortune in "For Dummies" books. A man before his time. I just found this on Abe Books for $74! I gave mine to a friend a long time ago. Both he and his Bug are no longer alive.

had the same book back in the 70s and 80s, for our '65 and '67 beetles.

also had the "how to keep your subaru alive", too.
