1986 foamy brown radiator

Been reading here for a long time, great resource!
So I have foamy brown suds in my radiator, but here’s the deal, I just had a crack in the head repaired and put it all back together over the weekend, now this. It still seems to run fine, Is it possible there was oily water left in the block and that’s what I’m seeing?

Flush it until it's clean. Last time with distilled water.

Then 50/50 distilled water and antifreeze. Green type is fine

Run some Prestone cleaner in the coolant system for a couple of days. then do a long flush including a separate back flush of the heater core. Then refill with 50/50 Distilled water/Prestone Green Antifreeze. I'd install a new Toyota thermostat prior to the final fill. Check hose interior for deterioration and replace if needed. If Toyota hoses they last forver. .

The Toyota hoses do NOT "last forever". Tell that to my destroyed alternator from the hose that leaked coolant onto it.

No hoses last forever, but yes, the factory hoses were of generally good quality. Check the hoses to make sure they still feel pliable but not squishy. If you are unsure and you can't remember when the hose was last changed, it's a good idea to change them while you're in there. And pay attention to the clamps you use -- those factory clamps are generally a better option that the common SS worm-drive ones.
