Door ajar light stays on with all door sensors unplugged.
96 4runner
The door ajar light is on no matter what. If you switch the dome lights to door they stay on. I tried to narrow down which door it was by fiddling with the door sensors and eventually unplugged them all to find that the light didn't go out. When I bought the car neither the gauge lights nor the radio worked, so I installed a new radio and cleaned up the previous owners crazy stereo harness. The gauge lights and radio work fine.
That same day I removed the back door cover, messed with the lock linkage and lubricated the ˟˟˟˟ out of it. The back door opens now.
As I have unplugged 5 door sensors it seems that it's not a sensor issue. The radio is on the same circuit as the door sensors do i figure it must be something with that. All the wires in the radio harness are connected except an orange one which is a dimmer i believe. Disconnecting this one restored function to the gauge lights. The other is a gray and black that I've got grounded out(the door light is on whether its grounded or not), and a blue accessory wire that's not connected to anything.
Any help and advice would be great.
