Question Replaced both control arm bushings at same time - truck drops to the ground.

Hey All,

I have a 2WD 1994 Toyota Base.

I have just replaced the entire suspension and steering components.

How do I set the control arm bushings at ride height when I've replaced them both at the same time? When I lower the truck, it drops almost all the way to the ground.

PS - I have installed Belltech Lowering Spindles.

Thank you in advanced!!!

Did ya ever consider consulting a Factory Service manual???

Control arm bushings aren't what determines ride height. Torsion bar adjustment is.

Bushings should be centralized near the middlr of their up and down travel range before their thru-bolts are tightened, but this is only to avoid over stressing them in service.

I'll have to double check the T-Bars. Since I replaced everything, I didn't really know how much to crank down on those, so I'll double check that.

Correct- I have not wrenched down on the bushing and was doing to torque to spec when I knew it was level. I just didn't know if I had done something to effect that, but I appreciate that insight!

I have a couple different manuals, I'll double check them.

Set the truck down on its tires but put some 2x8 blocks stacked up under them so it gives you enough clearance to crawl under and torque them down.
