Question 92 2WD Drivers Upper Control Arm

Hey All,

( messed up the title...lol ).

Decided to attempt to replace the entire suspension / ball joints / control arms ( due to rust ) on my 94 Pickup Base ( No Power Steering ). I've begun to tear down the drivers side, and realizing I may have bit off more than I can chew.

2 things I could use some help with:
1. While removing the upper control arm, the shims went everywhere. Am I to assume the alignment shop will figure it out?
2. I can't get the upper control arm out, looks like it's due to the steering rack. There's just not enough room between the body / frame to get it out. Is it best to just loosen the steering gear box and wiggle it around that?

Thanks for the help!
