Anyone care to share their high-mileage 22R-E oil analysis results? I ran mine recently to get a baseline and to look for indications relative to piston and timing-chain slap -- looks clean.
I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
"We marked copper since it's twice the average amount, but 10 ppm isn't enough wear at brass/bronze
parts to cause concern. Not all engines wear alike, and trends may show that this amount is the norm for
your engine. The rest of the wear metals are similar enough to the universal averages for a 22RE (which
are based on ~3,200 miles on the oil) to show appropriate levels of component wear. The oil was free of
any obvious contamination by the likes of fuel, coolant, or water. The viscosity read in spec, and low
insolubles show oil filtration was effective."
Super easy. They send you a collection kit for free, and then you drop your sample in the mail. You only pay for the samples you send in. I think it's about $30.
