03 Tacoma e-brake

Hi all,

Just a quick questions for the 03's
I don't know if they're the same but on my 02 you can start to feel the resistance pulling on the e-brake after about 12 clicks. I went to test drive an 03 today and the brake didn't start to give any resistance to about 18. I usually max out on 18 in my truck but this one maxed out at about 24 or so.

Is this normal? Or am I looking at a problem here?
When I parked I gave it a good jerk and checked the wire - it was surprisingly slack.

I didn't remember to do a sudden brake without the hand on the wheel (owner wasn't wearing a belt).

Otherwise the truck looks awesome - rear locker works fine, 4lo and 4hi seem pretty good. Interior is kind of trashy (didn't look like he took care of the inside) but at 21K it seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Nah, probably not a problem...just means that their rear drum brakes need to be adjusted. The shoes will move outwards towards the drums, and so when the e-brake handle is pulled, there will be less distance for the shoes to move in order to contact the brake drum surface (and thus less distance the e-brake handle has to be pulled).

I hope I answered your question!
