Front Suspension Feedback
Hey everyone....I'm not the best writer so I will try to explain the best I can. I have a 1995 (non-tacoma) xtra-cab pickup. It has a 3.4 and plan on adding a winch in the front down the road. It came with a 4 inch bracket lift in the front with lifted leaf springs in the back and is currently sitting on 33" tires. I am planning for an SAS and have been doing my own research on what avenue I would like to go with and through my research still have a handful of some unclear answers through my research (or at least haven't found them yet). I'm building it as a DD/Weekend Off Roader/Overland build. The largest tire I will be running would be 35's if I decide to go up from 33's. I'm considering piecing it together but also considering the trail gear SAS kit as well. Since the rear is already lifted with springs, I would like to match the front as best as possible without having to redo the rear. I've been considering the low range off-road low profile hanger or All Pros low profile hanger since it advertises it provides a more "accurate lift" with the trail gear leaf springs. Does anyone out there have any real world experiences with the low profile hangers using 5" or 4" shackles? Would the caster angles be any worse with the low profile hangers and is it a complete no no on putting shims in the front to help with the caster if needed? As far as ride quality on the road and not going over 35' tires, I'm having a hard time deciding on whether to go with the 3" HD or 4" HD springs since I have read that the 3's are stiffer than the 4's but would the 4's be too much of a lift for what I am going after? I am also considering the ome cs009r springs in the front, but not sure how they would ride or be able to support the V6 and added winch? I am not considering ruf's at the moment because I'd rather not spend my time with getting them tuned and would consider deavers or alcans but they are pricey. Those are the questions I have at them moment. Any feedback would be appreciated.
