Shifting Problem and 4 Wheel Light Flashing

I'm new to the group thanks to trading my 2016 Jeep JKU for a 2020 4Runner. However, after only 1300 miles on the 4Runner, I'm already having a problem. The dealer either says that the problem is normal, or they can't seem to duplicate it. But, this is definitely not normal. Basically, the transmission seems to shift hard into D or R after sitting for a while. The dealer states that this is normal because the trans fluid has drained from the torque converter, and that I should allow some time for the fluid to recirculate and warm for the initial shift to be smoother. I'm not sure if that sounds right or not, but that's not really the biggest problem.

What it's also doing is something that I believe is related to the above problem, but is also something potentially more serious. Twice in the past week, after backing up and shifting into D, there was a clunking sound coming from either the transfer case or the rear end, and also either a flashing 4 wheel drive light or transfer case light. The light only flashed a few times before turning off, so it was hard to actually see which light it was. I again contacted the dealer, but was told that unless they are able to duplicate the problem, there really isn't much they can do except document everything. They found no TSB's on the problem, but are doing a little research to see if there is any info about something similar.

I then decided to post a threat on this forum since these types of groups almost always have answers, or at least useful information. Maybe some of you have experienced the same problem, or maybe have some insight on what this might be. I don't really want to tell the dealer how to do their job, but if it helps fix my 4Runner, then I'm good with it.

Thanks in advance.
