91 four runner won’t rev up

I have a 91 Toyota 4 runner it won’t rev up if I can get it to rev past 3 thousand rpms it will drop multiple cylinders like it’s starving for fuel. If I turn it off and start it then let it idle it won’t trip the check engine light until I rev it up and let off then light will go off but if I shut it off then start again light will be gone

Did you read out the codes the CEL is indicating?

Remember, it's a good idea to delete stored up codes, so you can be sure you're only getting the codes for the current problem. Quick, easy way to do this is to pull the negative battery lead for a minute or so, then try and get the CEL to come on again. Once it has, you can read out the code(s) it's showing.

The FSM has the information on how to read out the codes, and what each one means. If needed, we can also provide the information on how-to read the codes and what they indicate for you if you don't have a copy of the FSM. It's a good idea to get one though. Even a PDF copy is much better than nothing.

This information can be very helpful in assisting you in fixing the troubles you're having. It's also very helpful in assisting us to assist you.
It also helps us to know for certain what engine you have in your truck. Has it been rebuilt? Has it been replaced entirely with a different engine than what came with your truck originally? If so, how long ago?
The more information you can give us, the better we can help you, you see?

Good luck to you!
