Question I need a new 3.0!!

Well Im pretty sure it crapped out on me. Weird ticking noise, low oil pressure. all that stuff at 140000. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a long block at a reasonable price? Thanks.

I cant recommend a place to get an engine, but what i wanted to say is that a tick sound and what you think may be low oil pressure is not enough in my book to proclaim that you need a long block. Can there be another issue there that a simple, cheaper fix might help with? More info would be good.

I agree you want to be sure on that diagnosis....you are talking some serious coin here even for a long block.
The supply of good 3.0L engines is quite short so be prepared to shell out $2K+ on average.

Its a pretty heavy ticking, it in time with rpms. Im not gonna shell out the cash before I pull I just want to be prepared for the worst. We are gonna try and pull it this weekend to make sure. Ive heard a theory that the flex plate can crack or break and creat this noise, any theories? Ive also had a couple of mechs check it out and there opinion is that its gone. Thats based mostly on the noise though. one even told me it could be a wrist pin. I had the HG update done about 6 or 8 months ago, could they have done anything to cause a snafu?

Get a mechanic's stethescope and see if you can pinpoint which area on the engine the noise comes from.
That will help greatly on the diagnosis.

BTW, it looks like this and they are about $15-20
