im in the process of making new door panels. the cardboard has had it in my oem ones. took the pass side off the grease the regulator and tore out three of the little plastic push nuts and I was using a trim tool. I have made new panels but instead of the particle board stuff I used 1/8" ABS plastic. they fit great and were cut on a CNC, exact copy of OEM. if you follow my resto thread you have seen these. I decided to go all out on the doors now. I have new weather plastic, new window channels, lock bezels, inner felts, etc etc. I want to cover the panels I made with some nice vinyl to look semi oem. anyone have any recommendations on vinyl material? also, the oem doors have a chrome looking thing strip of metal near the top that's purely aesthetic but id like to find something like that for my new ones. anyone done anything like this? thanks. here are a few pics of the panel I made, the top metal portion fits perfect, I would like to wrap it in something as well, maybe a slightly different shade of grey than the doors.
