Hilux/hiace transmission info needed

Howdy y'all! I'm looking for some information regarding the Hilux engine/transmission combos. Well I guess hiace too since that's what I'm building! . I have a 92 hiace super custom with he 3L enigne/G52 5 speed transmission and I'm looking to a vw alh conversion. Theres a company thst sells adapter plates for the alh to Toyota gearbox (either the w56 or r150 transmission) and I'm wondering which plate will work with my G52 trans. I know the Hilux came with the 3L as well, but did they also have the G52 gearbox? The Hilux also came with the w56 box but I'm not sure if the 3L would bolt up to that. Any inform would be greatly appreciated!

Here's the adapter plate I'm looking at:
W56
https://www.dieselconversion.com/adapter-plate-toyota-w56-to-1998-2002-vw-1-9-tdi.html
R150
https://www.dieselconversion.com/vw-alh-and-ahu-to-toyota-r150-adapter-plate-includes-cranshaft-spacer.html

Which one would work with the G52?
I'm aware that the G52 is not the same number as either the w or r transmission, but I was told that the G and W series have interchangeable bellhousings

I wanna see the hiace, man! Pics?
Checked quickly on marlin crawlers board. Seems you need the W56 adapter. https://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=756.0

But that 52 is supposedly weaker - you think it will be ok with the torque of the TDI? I would think the R150f would be the much better choice. But you'd need a new transmission.

How much weaker do you figure? With a stock tune the alh is similar in power to the 3L but yes it does have more torque. The 3L has about 136 ftlbs torque Co pared the the alh 159 ftlbs, would that small of an increase in torque be enough to grenade the trans? I honestly have no idea. But the weird thing about the hiace is that there is no crossmember on the transmission : it just has one hanger on top of it holding it in place so mounting up an r150 would be a huge challenge

It's hard to see but there's an engine mount thing on top of the trans

Those two torque ratings are similar enough that your tranny should hold up if it is sound.

You'll hardly ever be flogging it for all it's worth, right???

LOL wish I could but ˟˟˟˟˟˟˟! Parts are expensive to ship over to Canada! I'll most likely be doing some very light off roading but the biggest reason for 4wd is I like to ice fish in the winter's and sometimes the lakes have a lot of snow on the ice

My strength info is from Marlins board.
In the low RPMs torque is more "damaging" than when the stuff is spinning fast.
I'Ve never broken anything not in first gear.

So I guess if you start of slow and only give it full power in second after it's moving you'll be ok.
