I have been troubleshooting my A/C for a few days now and I believe I have finally found my issue but I want to get a second opinion to prevent damaging any other components in my A/C.
I realized the clutch on the compressor was not engaging so i connected it directly to power and it engaged so I knew the clutch was still good. I started making my way back to see why Power was not being fed to the compressor.
I started testing the components as mentioned by the FSM and when I got to the thermoswitch and checked the continuity between the terminal and ground I found that there was no continuity. So I removed the plug from the thermoswitch and connected a wire that went straight to ground and what do you know the compressor engaged the clutch and the A/C started working.
So, from my understanding the thermoswitch seems to be a normally closed circuit to ground and if the temps ever reach to high I believe the switch opens which breaks the circuit and cuts off your A/C.
My question is, do you guys see any issues to temporarily run that wire directly to ground??
