EGR And Air Injection

Hey guys, new owner here. I have an 89 22re and when I got the truck It had a rough idle. a smoke test revield a bad lower intake gasket leak. so I have the intake off, waiting on an injector rebuild kit ( discovered cracked plastic on nozzle). so my question is to those who have first hand experience with deleting the egr, air injection, and unnecessary vacuum lines (and the 2 sensors on the valve cover that are hooked to vacuum lines). after installing the 4 block off plates, and removing/ capping vacuum lines, did you have any issues or have to make any adjustments? if so what adjustments or problems did you experience? how did you solve these issues? thanks a lot guys.

The Dorman 1/8 inch black rubber vacuum caps are junk. They will start cracking in months. Source some silicone caps if you can. The auto part stores stock vinyl caps too, but have not used any.

Lower intake gasket leak is not good. Hopefully, you bought a lower intake gasket with the rubber sealing bead around the ports. You can install it dry.

Run a vacuum line from the charcoal canister to the P port on throttle body. P port is what I remember. Check the vacuum diagram under the hood.
