4runner seat covers.
Im looking for a fairly inexpensive, good fitting set of seat covers.
I want them to look OEM, none of these fancy "racing" ones
I see a ton on ebay but not sure how much i trust them yet.
Anyone know of any others?

IMHO - ask at a local auto upholstery shop - or heck even a sofa upholstry shop.
IM curios myself as to the cost... me thinks it will look ALOT better than the pics above as they will REMOVE the existing covers and use new "hog rings" etc...
Plus you cna pifk out new fabrics etc

I got a set of used Wet Okole front seat covers for $80 off Craigslist. They are meant for a 4th Gen (2004) 4Runner but they fit my 1st gen 89 4Runner just fine. My seats are the standard DLX vinyl. The covers are the standard gray and black and even the little holes for the head rests line up. The sides are not open for air bags like a lot of newer covers. I took lots of pictures and I'm intending to do a write up but I'm on a borrowed computer these days and can't down load my pics onto it. Also, if you look at KiyoBrown's build thread, he used Toyota TRD neoprene seat covers meant for 4th Gen 4Runners. The sides are cut out but look fine. I see those used on eBay for $25-$100 all the time.

I just noticed that the Cabela's Trail Gear seat covers are on sale right now for $14.99 each! I love all the pockets on the back. In the reviews people seem to like them.

Toyotech: I have both a 1st gen 4Runner and a 3rd gen 4Runner. The 4th gen seat covers fit both the 1st gen and the 3rd gen fairly well, not perfectly. As I said above the TRD covers fit the 1st gen therefore they must fit the 3rd. Kiyobrown has a build thread in the 1st gen section and he put TRD covers on his 4Runner. I have only tried covers for the FRONT SEATS.
Edit: I was thinking you had a 3rd gen, Toyotech. They will def fit your '88. I caused confusion by saying the TRD covers are for a 4Runner. I think they are made for a Tacoma. Anyway, I see them on eBay and Craigslist all the time. I think I like the texture of the ballistic nylon (Cabela's) covers better than neoprene though. Maybe Santa will get my laptop straight so I can upload some pictures soon.

I may do the cabelas ones. I wish I could cover the headrest but it seems like nice options cost more than newer seats.
I've thought about the seatshield covers just for when I'm dirty. Duluth trading post has one also. It just drapes over the seat to keep it clean also.
If I really spend $$, I'm getting a fluffy sheepskin cover.

Cover hides some butt ugly seats that just won't clean up
This makes tying seat covers on easy
This is where you snake seat belt buckle through,,dont even attempt with the buckle still mounted in truck
They fit okay
Old tread but here are RealSeatCovers Tm I installed yesterday. Came across them on Etsy for $66 USD.
Save yourself a lot of grief by removing your seats, seat side covers and drivers side seat belt buckle. Now you can easily install the covers and snake the seat belt buckle through the seat. I stitched up the usual rip on my driver side seat just to keep it from coming apart any more.
