195/75 R14 vs. 205/75 R14 on 92 Pickup?

My base 1992 Toyota Pickup currently has 205/75 R14 tires. It looks like the stock tires were 195/75 R14.

I don't really know much about tires, or whether or not one size is objectively better than the other, it's just what was on the truck when I bought it. But now I need to replace the tires, and I'm not sure what to buy.

Can anyone help me with this noob question?

What would be the advantage of the 205 (why did the previous owner put those on?) and what would be the advantage of the 195? I'm guessing that my speedometer has been a little off the whole time since it doesn't have stock size tires on it, but the 22re isn't exactly a racer engine, so I've never really had an issue there.

The 205s were probably installed because that's what was available for cheap. 195 to 205 is a pretty insignificant jump. 195/75R14 is 25.5 inches. 205/75R14 is 26.1 inches. The 205 is only about .5 inches taller and about .3 inches wider. You likely wont notice a difference from the tire size change. Tire size is also varies from manufacture to manufacture. a 195 might be narrower than a 195 from another company. The sizes seem to be more like ballpark figures rather than accurate measurements. I would always just recommend using the size tire that's printed on your door sticker but if that's not available, going up or down a size isn't going to hurt anything.

Yup my 92 has 195-14 on the door jamb. 195 or 205 which ever is cheaper. I have 205 15 tires mounted on Mustang wheels on my pickup.
