Just paid a guy $500 for a reasonably clean '94 4runner sr5 with a seized engine for my best friend's daughter. It'll be her first car. Manual transmission.

The plan is to source a 5VZ-FE and swap it in over the next few months. She'll have to do a substantial part of the wrenching as part of the deal. She's done 1 semester of high school auto shop and loved it.

This won't be my first time swapping an engine. First time swapping in a dissimilar engine i guess.

Been reading various swap guides. So far I'm a bit confused by whether or not I'll need a new oil pan if the doner doesn't come from a T100.

Anyway. Hi. I guess this is my swap thread. Some of you may know me from the mud forums. I still have and drive my '94 cruiser.

 

If you have the 3.0 in your 94, you should be able to swap that pan and pickup tube over to the 5vz. I would recomend making a swap thread in the engine swap area, might get the correct help faster that way!
