Viability of swapping for later year ECU in 2nd Generation 4Runner?

Anyone with working experience of toyota (or any) ECU's could comment please on the viability of putting a later year (91-95) ECU from 3VZE auto tranny 4Runner into a 1990 3VZE auto tranny 4Runner? Has anyone done it? I understand the implications, that something might be different, but then again, the vehicles are pretty much the same, same engine, same tranny... Knowledgeable ECU people help greatly appreciated.

Maybe he's looking for more power?

If you're looking to grab more ponies out of your chip, why not just get a modchip from summit or another race catalog? Its easier to install, less worries about something being different, and probably about the same cost, or less.
