What Will New Suspension Do?

I'm thinking about having new suspension put on my 94 4x4. I have a few general questions though:
1. What parts does that mean replacing (shocks, struts, etc)?
2. Will new suspension vastly improve the quality of ride?
3. Is this a good time to lift the truck as well?
4. What's the ballpark price these days?

Thanks, guys!

1. What parts does that mean replacing (shocks, struts, etc)? it depends on an individual's opinion some would call it a lift, some would say redoing shocks, bushings etc (which no matter what route you go would be a good idea on a 25 year old truck)
2. Will new suspension vastly improve the quality of ride? Depends on what suspension you go with, some are way better than others. are you doing new front torsion bars, ball joint spacers? Lift Blocks or new springs
3. Is this a good time to lift the truck as well?
what is your end goal with the truck?
4. What's the ballpark price these days? again it depends on the route you go spacers up front, blocks or springs in the rear. too many variables to give you a ball park other than $500-300o

Thanks, guys!
It all comes down to what your budget is

If your lifting, it will require allowances for geometry changes... there are companies that have already figured that out and sell kits to accomplish your goal...

2. Will new suspension vastly improve the quality of ride? New suspension will probably change your ride... maybe better, maybe worse.

3. Is this a good time to lift the truck as well?
Its a good a time as any, if lifting is your goal

4. What's the ballpark price these days?
anywhere from a couple hundred bucks for cheap shocks to several thousand for elaborate lifts...

If it's bouncy, get shocks.
replace all joints, balls, steering kunkageand strerin absorber.

Are you leafs flat? Did you raise the back with extended shackles? Fix that, it improves everything from vibration in the driveshaft that will kill your diff pinion bearings and or tcase output bearing, to fixing that bumpy ride.
