clutch-whats the difference?

clutch-whats the difference?
I have a 89 xcab 4x4 with 22r,had to take the motor out was checkin out the clutch an noticed by the #s on the pressure plate that it is for 84 to 88 4cly.It was working fine. Does anybody know what is different between 84 to 88 an the 88 to 92?
