whatever is cheapest...with gas approaching $2/gal. I doubt I am going to be brand loyal.

yea as long as you dont go to somewhere called like 'bobs gas station' youll be set. i personally dont like the hess' here as they pretend to have the best prices but really dont.

my fav gas station here is Gulf.. always has the lowest price -- last weekend, hess was 1.89 for 89 octane. gulf was 1.81.

I agree.
Luckily I am a Mobil fan and they happen to be the cheapest in my area. $1.99 for premium while the Chevron across the street wants $2.12.

Here is a gas question I've pondered (and this may just be an excuse to complain how us Coloradans are getting jobbed by the petroleum industry).

For the most part, in Colorado "regular" unleaded is 85 octane. Mid-grade is 87. Toyota states 87 octane to be used for us n/a types. Octane is lower here because with the lower atmospheric pressure 85 will run w/o detonation issues.

To add a little mud to the issue, I"ve got 5th hand info that Colorado cars get more headjobs than any other state.

So...maybe more for coloradans than others, do you run 85 or 87? what if 86 is available?

and how come i have to pay 10 more cents a gallon for the same fuel up here?

I live in the Bay Area and it's 2.35 for regular unleaded at a Shell. Looks like I will be pulling out the ten speed soon here.

Yeah, I run Premium because of the Supercharger. Unfortunately both of my cars require Premium fuel!

MTBs are typically 27speed when new (now). I've seen roadies with 10 in the rear so possibly 30 there.

Which may be fueling the single-speed revolution. Too many gears!

Yah totally, I got a 27 speed moutain bike, but I only have an 18 speed road bike, because triple front chainrings on road bikes are for weenies. They even have radio frequency shifters now, so you don't need cables.

I continue to use CHEVRON.

Around here, it doesn't matter anymore really what brand you use. Everything is roughly the same prices, wether it's CHEVRON or "GAS-N-GO" or whatever.

I have noticed, however, that CIRCLE K's are about five pennies more expansive than the rest.
