22 re exhaust configuration recomendations California

I have a rebuilt 22re and an LCE header. I was talking to a muffler shop dude, and he was saying that because I have the header, it may not get hot enough to "fire off the cat"
Do any CA members have an LCE header and if so, did you experience any sort of problems with the smog guys getting it to pass smog?
I have sent an email to LCE and the engine builder asking the same question, and thought I would ask the braintrust here.
As always, Thank you for the help!
I am also looking for muffler recommendations, which I realize it is a very subjective thing, but please do share your thoughts and real world experience.

Thanks Fishguy, I heard back from the 22re Performance guys yesterday. A heated O2 sensor is required for the cat.
Since mine is an 1988 with a 4 wire sensor I am good to go. If you have a 1 wire sensor, a kit, available from LCE, is available to
Convert the sensor over to the 4 wire.
Thanks for the reply!
