L43 Shift shaft bushing/oil seal removal?

Hi - How do you remove the old oil seal/bushing from the shift shaft without damaging the aluminum shift shaft? Thanks,

LOL. I’m committed to this damn transmission until it goes south. Previous experience is with Italian V12s and V8s - this 79 pickup is a treat. Early days tho.
