Anyone know if the 22re distributor has a replaceable signal generator pickup coil? It seems like there are some aftermarket choices and the FSM says it’s a replaceable part but my parts deal (Toyota dealer, two different ones actually) is saying it doesn’t have a separate part number and is only sold with the distributor. One of the two also said the OEM distributor is discontinued?? The other hasn’t gotten back to me about the availability of a new OEM distributor. Thing is these parts desk guys are saying one thing but online this part number (same I ordered) says it works on the 22r but is also listed as a part of the 22re from several sources. Can anyone confirm ? Part number 1925037080 signal generator assembly.

Oh and the second source just said the distributor for the 22re is discontinued as well....

I called 3 dealers and all said the same thing the part number isn’t listed as available separately for the 22re and that it only comes as part of the entire distributor assembly which of course is now discontinued. I was just curious if anyone knew for sure if the pickup coil from the 22r was a direct fit for the 22re distributor. At a 200$ price tag I don’t want to find out if I’m wrong. My local Napa has a reman distributor avaialble today for 130$ so I’m going that route. I try to get OEM parts when it’s possible but some stuff is ridiculously priced or not available so gotta do what I gotta do. Thanks for chiming in.
