131,000 miles on my 4Runner 4 wheel drive. Got upper and lower balljoints replaced
a little while ago, after the front lower balljoint broke, wondering if its time to replace
wheel bearings. Thank you.

 

If they spin freely and don't make any noise then probably not

 

You will hear it when tit's time. Usually in 3rd, low rpms, you hear something is grinding away. If you steer left and right, you can influence the sound. That would be wheel bearings. They can feel smooth and perfect if you turn them by hand, but still be bad. They usually last around 300K miles

On my truck, you hear it best in 3rd at 30mph, at 60, and at 80. After 90 it goes away. :p
