engnbldr 268c Torkr valve lash from Ted

TL;DR engnbldr 268c Torkr Hot: .007/.009

Was doing a valve adjustment on my 90 4Runner 22re which has an engbldr 268 in it--an addition to the engine I did back in 2011 along with a new HG and top end. Anywho, looked back through my old emails to find this response from Ted Standwood aka engnbldr. This was with regard to an initial break in on a new top end, but he makes mention of the final setting being the same .007/.009 HOT.

~(Not his recommendation, but I have also set them cold before at .009/.011)~

Hopefully this can help someone at some point if they are lookin' for this information. Get a feel for it and you'll figure it out!

Hey Ted,
I was wondering if the recommended valve lash for your 268 cam, .007/.009, was for when the valves are cold or hot?

Thanks,

The final setting is hot. We set them the same cold and the recheck after a full break-in when fully warm.
Thanks again,
Ted
