Valve lash adjustment

I have been trying to search for a writeup on the procedure for valve lash adjustment, and tools needed. Anybody know where I can find this or help point me in the right direction? My lifters are getting really loud. I would like to do it myself, I can't afford to pay someone to do it for me.
Thanks

3.0 I think I have found enough info searching that I should be able to do it myself. I am just going to measure the lash, remove the cam and try and figure out which shims I need then reinstall everything, hopefully it will quiet it up.
Thanks

No need to remove the cams. You can buy the special service tool off ebay for like 15 bucks. Or you can get one from your dealer for alot more. Then you can just remove the intake and valve covers and do it. You use the tool to compress the valve spring and then use the wedge to hold it down and pull the shim out with a magnet. Its not really as hard as people make it out to be. It just takes some time.

If you want to quiet things down, do you know about the steering shaft seal problem? They almost always harden up and crack leaving a open passage from you engine compartment to the passenger compartment. I replaced the seal on mine and it shocked the hell out of me on how quiet the ride is now. I would have never though such a small peice makes a huge difference.
