Can i swap rearends in a 92 and 97 4runner?

Can i swap rearends in a 92 and 97 4runner?
I want to buy a 97 4runner with 3.4 v6 but seller is saying that the spider gears for the rear end and the ignition switch needs replaced! I have a 89 and 92 3.0 pick-ups and a 92 3.0 4runner for parts! Will I be able to fix it for a little or nothing?

The rear third members are interchangeable provided that the gear ratios are the same. If your '92 is a 22RE truck, the carrier and internals cannot be swapped piece for piece between the thirds, but still might be swapped out as whole 3rd members. If both are V6 engined they should be mechanicly identical, baring different gear ratios, as said before.
