Its can and has been done but its far from easy and cheap. It wont work with your stock transmission. An adapter bell housing is needed to use the r150f. If you go auto you will want to use the tundra trans. There is some work involved in mating a passenger drop t-case to it. A Custom flywheel will be needed and possible a custom disk and pressure plate. Will need custom motor mounts. Will likely need a body lift and maybe even a diff drop. Likely a custom oil pan. Oil filter clearance is tight. Iv'e seen people get it to clear by removing the cooler. Steering shaft clearance is tight. Will need custom exhaust. I'm not sure if the stock fuel system is v8 capable. Its something to look into. Electrical is a nightmare especially if you want it to look and act stock with all of the accessories like A/C and cruise. A/C and power steering I'm most certain will need custom plumbing. Good luck getting it Cali smog legal if that's a requirement. May need core support and radiator work.
All in all, there's a huge amount of work that needs to be done and it certainly won't be cheap. Do some research. Pretty much everything you need to know is out there. You just got to find it. Use Google Chrome and install the Photobucket Hotlink Fix extension to bring back usability of some old threads. If you wan't some more power but want something a little easier and cheaper consider a 3.4 swap. With some strategic shopping and waiting a 3.4 swap can be done for less than 1k. If you buy a whole parts truck for cheap you might even be able to make money on the swap. Do some research on that. There is loads of info on the 3.4 swap. Yotatech even has s sub forum dedicated to it its so common.

What's wrong with your 2003 Tundra?
A lot of people swap the 1UZ 4.0 Lexus V8. It's from the same family of V8 engines made by Toyota with the same external dimensions as your tundra engine. It seems like there's a pretty good body of knowledge on that swap, much of which should apply to your situation. I am right now considering whether to swap a 1UZ or a 5VZFE 3.4 V6 into my 1993 Xtra Cab. The main thing I'm finding so far is that the Lexus V8 costs less to buy initially than the 5VZFE, but requires additional expense for adapters if you are you using a manual transmission, which is how my truck is equipped, and how I intend for it to remain. Also remember that your engine has an iron block, while the Lexus engine has an aluminum block. Your Tundra Engine will make your truck a little bit heavier, while the Lexus engine will make my 93 a little bit lighter. If you have a manual transmission expect to pay around $500 for an adapter bell housing and another $400 for a custom heavy flywheel (not necessary, but good for lugging your engine while offroading at low speed). I don't know how the tundra oil pan will fit with your truck, but if it is a problem, it's possible that one of the three or four different 1UZ oil pans will work. Looking forward to hear what you decide.
