I tried to install a new clutch kit and ended up having a grinding each time i pressed the pedal and would not shift while engine was running.
i have double checked i put the clutch plate on correctly and, I didn't install the throw out backwards used a new clip i am at a looking for any suggestions as to what may have lead to this
brand new t-o bearing guide eaten all 4 clips where bent new pressure plate looks like uneven pressure or wobble all 4 retainers are bent out so bearing fell apart clutch fork looks good to me
from truck no this is not how mine was installed pic from google
from kit
so yes they are different so were the pressure plates i assumed due to a change in bearing, the fingers on the new plate don't go out as far,
clutch plate was torqued following included instructions
Torqued flywheel down according to chiltion

It looks like you may have had the wrong bearing. What brand kit did you use? Most of the part store kits I won't use the bearings in. I've redone many clutches over a failed bearing. I usually will buy a National or Timken bearing the same time I buy the kit. I've never had a problem with either of them. The only part store kit I trust the bearings are Napa. They use Napa branded LUK kits. LUK is good stuff. They're an OEM for many car companies. I usually will spend the extra time and money to get a LUK kit online.
i used one from rockauto figured while i had the block out i would change the clutch. Made my first mistake ordering part before i had the car apart. this kit to be specific FENCO/FENWICK NU31197 (Daily Driver) Reman

Before you beat yourself up over any screw ups, I’ll say that I just went through the same thing. With a brand new transmission and clutch, my truck wouldn’t shift gears. After a little back and forth, they took the clutch back under warranty. It’s replacement is smooth as silk. If I had to guess, I’d think there is a small amount of manufacturers cranking out clutch kits for old trucks. Could’ve been a bad batch.
