91 3VZE Power steering

My old power steering pump was making some noises, so I threw in a re-manufactured pump from NAPA. Used ATF like the manual says. The pump worked fine for a few days, but the first time I went on the highway (60+ mph) after the replacement, the power steering stopped working. A few minutes after exiting the highway, power steering came back. It happens every time without fail, and power steering usually comes back between 2-15 minutes after highway driving. Any thoughts? Thanks!

When you say the Power steering stops I am guessing no belt slipping making a squealing noise . Correct ??

The truck steers like the Power steering belt has been removed ?

If every thing is installed correct sounds like your rebuilt is not assembled correct

Without being up close and in person just a good guess

did you bleed the air out? after it quit working did you check the fluid level?
these may sound like stupid questions, but we need to know.

Yeah, power steering completely stops. No belt noises or groaning. No bubbles in the fluid, etc. I'm leaning towards a bad pump but I wanted to ask the masses!

Yeah, I flushed and replaced the ATF and bled out the air. The fluid level has not changed since the day I installed it. It works flawlessly around town, but as soon as I hit the highway it goes kaput.
