Chinese turbos

I know I can go on the turbo forum but am finally wanting to get my 87 turbo on the road. While doing the chain I wanted to replace the turbo. Do not see any change in my stock boost gauge but doubt the turbo in doing anything. I was looking at this unit. Anyone have any experience with any replacement turbo. I know all the yadayada about supra turbos and all the optioins but I just want to ride with reasonable fuel economy and dependability. All that might happen later if I live long enough. They have sold 133 and in my response from them stated a two year warranty. Please comment.

Do not see any change in my stock boost gauge but doubt the turbo in doing anything. I drove this runner about 50 miles when I bought it. It has been sitting a few years. It ran good, needs tranny solenoids as you have to shift it. I was looking at this unit. Anyone have any experience with any replacement turbo. In my experience when I had my VR-4 it was recommended to stay away from those ebay turbos. They end up being door stoppers. Genuine rebuild kits don't always fit and even if they do it doesn't hold up after rebuild. Get a genuine turbo or else.

Do you have the digital dash with pressure transducer, or just the light style turbo indicator? The idiot light style doesn't have a sensor, the ECU just turns it on when it thinks you should be in boost.. You should add an analog gauge in either case..

There are some extensive data on these turbos and ct20 specs, available bearings ect, in my build thread..

Even if there were OEM ct20 available for the 22re you could buy ten at that price for what the OEM list prices..

You'll need a new down pipe with the diesel turbo, custom waste gate mount, and to reclock the housing.

Mine has the digital dash with the light bar display. The seller claims this fits the 2.4 as engine. that is why I was looking at that one. I want a bolt on. I won't drive 25k in 10 years so if it worked for 10k I would be happy.
I know this isnt worth much but here is the reply on fitment. It is shipped from New Jersey so no overseas warranty issues.

I was just looking at your photos. What did you use for the tee under the intake with the coolant. Mine is jacked up with quite a rigged up mess. I ordered the tree hoses under there from Toyota. I will read your thread, thanks. I cannot find your thread using search by user name. Can you link me/

Dispite what they say above it isn't a perfect match. It will bolt up to everything but it is located farther from the engine since it is intended to be on the other side of the engine bay on the LT engines. (The flange that mounts to the exhaust manifold has an "opposite" slope)..

My water outlets are stock, I think this is what you are asking about? If I had to replace them I would just drill and braze a tube on for the oil cooler using the non-turbo bypass plate/tube. Even a generic tee would work if it is a conversion but might be a little cramped.

Click my name then select threads started by user, it should pop up the build thread, otherwise it's probably a few pages back on the index pages.

(Think its in my signature line also still, but I don't see Sig lines on my phone)
