If you have to ask you would probably be better off just getting a pre-built 3rd member. Just make sure to check your gear ratio before you order any parts, also, what is your reason for rebuilding? Leaking seals do not require a rebuild, especially axle seals.

Sorry about my long period in responding about why would i wish to rebuild, well i did not say origiinally but my differentual has developed a noise and seems to have no intention in becoming quite again. I suppose i should have stated that I am curious about estimated cost a shop might charge. Tho I used to be able to build a space shuttle at a surplus store, "8^}, I am now 73 and not what i used to be.

with labor costs what they are now I would recommend pricing a complete third member (like from Trailgear or marlin crawler or such) and getting a quote from a shop for labor on replacing it and doing the axle seals and bearings versus them doing a rebuild on what you have. without hearing the noise or tearing down your rear diff if would be difficult to say if it just needs bearings or if the ring and pinion are shot and the labor time for them to rebuild yours would probably end up costing you more than buying a new one to swap it out. There are other members on here that could give you more information, one of the best to ask would be ZUK if he is still active on here. Try sending him a PM if he doesn't chime in!
