five speed rebuild

my 86 has a 4spd in it now and i was given a 5 spd. the only problem it has is 5th and reverse have chipped teeth. are these easy to fix? they are scarce as hens teeth around here. and what should i use in the tranny. the only other problem i have is the slip rings on the alternator are worn half way through, are all toyota alternators of this year the same parts internaly or do i have to buy a new or rebuilt one? the lights are nice and bright.. it's a head schracher to me.
