Exclamation 87 vs 83 22r Igniter compatibility question

Hey fellas, anyone know if the igniter assembly off a 83 22r part number 89620-35H93 will work on my 87 22r pickup with currently broken igniter assembly part number 89620-35140? They look the same and I found a new replacement for an 83 but the differing part numbers are concerning. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have Both EWD`s sit down and compare the pin outs .

It might just be a case of moving a wire or two

On the 87 you will have the 2 green plugs with 2 wires 1 green plug one wire

the one wire plug green wire goes to the check connector

The one green 2 wire plug has a Black /Red wire coming from the Ignition Switch black wire going to the tach on the ECU

The other two wire Green Plug goes to the Distributor either a Red or Pink wire and a White one

Hope that helps
