pickup shakes when first start up

pickup shakes when first start up
1993 pickup sr5 3.0 v6 5spd
when i first start my truck up in the morning, or whenever its cold, the whole truck vibrates really bad, but within about 30 seconds after it gets to a certain idle point, it stops and is fine throughout the day. doesnt do it when the truck is warm. what could cause this?

You have one or more cylinders not firing. Could be ignition problem, fuel delivery, compression. About 1,000 other possibilities.
If you really care, put the inductive pickup of your timing light on each spark plug lead; if the light flashes, the plug is firing. But you have to work quickly; you've only got 30 seconds!
