Head Gasket Blew!!!!! Yes!!!

My HG blew about two weeks ago...I was ready to sell this thing off....but...............I JUST COULDN'T!!

The guy who did the work was excellent. I asked him to clean the tops of the pistons and the heads...I went to check the progress....he cleaned them so well you could eat off them! I have had this for over two years now and I thought it was just a 3.slow. It has alot more power now and holds speed much better up hills.....my pinging is gone.

Just installed new Cat and Dynomax muffler and I know this has been talked about many times, but I will give you my opinion....It is only alittle louder than stock...the air wishing sounds from the engine is louder. I have even heard someone say that while driving it was annoying.....it is not that at all!

Also installed tranny cooler on top of skid plate...very easy...over heated once before...hope not again.

You didn't qualify for the HG campaign? My truck doesn't...it was built in Jan of 95.
How many miles did that engine last before you HG problem?
How much did it cost to have it rebuilt?

This was the second time for the HG. First time it was the prior owner....41,000 miles....This time 67,000. I would go check the progress everyday....he showed me parts of the Gasket the dealer left on there the first time. I wish I could have done it myself, but I have no Garage or time....I have a 7 year old that takes all my time..LOL It cost $1700 and dealer wanted almost $2500.
