Am I reading this right? 100K mile coolant change, etc.

Am I reading this right? 100K mile coolant change, etc.

Looked at the maintenance guide from Toyota for the 2004 4runner. Am I reading it right? It shows that the first coolant change is at 100K miles. I never saw a transmission fluid change unless you towed. I also never saw a fluid change for the differentials or transfer case unless you towed. Is it a new type of fluids they are using?

Yes. It's what I posted about in your other thread. It's a combination of new fluids, materials and manufacturing methods. Being old school, I'd still be looking into fluid changes based on time even with your gentle highway miles. Nice to know you'll be saving major maintenance $ along the way, though!

I can see a 100K coolant interval, but lifetime tranny fluid??

Personally, I would replace it every 60K with whatever ATF the manufacturer recommends.

They say the 04 transmission is sealed. I don't know?
