lift options for my 1992 4wd ext cab sr5 w/3.0 v6

I need to lift my truck but not too extremely because I still use it as a daily driver. I keep reading about the BJ's ball joint spacers and I have a couple of questions.

1- Where is the best place to purchase them?
2- What size can I go with so that cv angle is not an issue?
3- If I want to upgrade my shocks, what brand is best and will the choice of ball joint space thickness dictate the length of travel for the shocks? or do I continue to use direct oem replacement shocks because travel length will not change due to adding ball joint spacers?
