How much fuel should you see in the sight glass before you attempt to start a stock 22r with OEM Asin carb? Mine reads way below half before I attempt to start. I usually have to hit it with a shot of ether before it will fire if it's been sitting for a day or so. I know it could use a rebuild, but just trying to eliminate other potential issues before I start throwing parts at it.

 

My float level was set to see half a glass of fuel. With that setting, I would do one pump with throttle and it would start right up. Make sure your accelerator pump is working good

Could be the needle seat. I've heard that after a while they wear out a bit and allow the bowl to drain down some or even completely, after sitting a while not being run or driven. Rebuild time?

 

Yup. Just pulled it off the other day. I'll let you know my findings once I bolt it back on.
